We hope you and your family members are still staying healthy during the wind-down of…
To all our valued patients and friends,
After practicing dentistry for 33 years, I have decided to announce my retirement—although I’m not going anywhere just yet. I’ll be here in the office treating patients as always for years to come (maybe with an extra day off here and there). I can honestly say that it has been my singular honor to be your family dentist all these years. In some cases, I have treated three generations of your family. Each of you has become a valued friend.
As many of you know, our family dental practice was started by my father, Dr. Dale Watts, in 1960, and I first joined him in the practice in 1988. To this day, I remember how all of our loyal patients welcomed me and made me feel like I was part of a real family practice right away, which is why I hope that you’ll do the same for our newest dentist, Dr. Joseph Geha.
When I first met Dr. Geha, I knew immediately that I had found someone I could trust to take over my practice. With his vast expertise and phenomenal rapport with patients, I knew he was someone that the many patients who had trusted me all these years would grow to trust themselves. Already, he seems like a part of the family, as his values, vision, upbringing, and ties to the Overland Park community make him a perfect fit for our practice.
In fact, Dr. Joseph Geha grew up right here in Overland Park. He attended Rockhurst High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washburn University, where he was a student athlete. As a graduate of the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2018, he was a recipient of the Excellence in Prosthodontics award and is well versed in the full scope of preventative and restorative procedures. He has a special interest in esthetic dentistry and prosthodontics.
Since meeting Dr. Geha, we’ve seen him repeatedly go above and beyond to ensure the best outcome and satisfaction for each and every patient. As we’ve gotten to know him, we’ve come to realize how much he looks forward to serving the community he has grown to know and admire. Dr. Geha currently lives in Overland Park with his wife Sarah and their twin boys, Thomas and Daniel, who are 16 months old. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and illustrating.
As I said earlier, I’m not leaving just yet. I’ll be present each week, so don’t be surprised to see me around the office. Our address and phone number will remain the same through this transition. The website URL and contact email will change eventually, though it’s staying the same for now, too. We’ll keep you all informed as things progress.
For now, I’ll leave you with this: Dr. Geha has told me how excited he is to be joining our practice and caring for the health of you and your family. He’s anxious to meet all of you, so stop in anytime and say hello!
Thank you! – Dr. Doug Watts
